I live in Dallas, on the edge of Addison. Our apartment complex has a small colony of stray cats. I know of at least 5, and one of the females is in heat right now so we'll see kittens soon. Are there any trap-alter-release programs in Dallas? One that is free would be awesome but if I can find one that doesn't charge a lot, I can maybe get the females dealt with after we get our tax return.

Drama with my car: The check engine light was on so I had someone check it out. Turns out nothing was really wrong with it and the check engine light went off. I went to the inspection place afterward and apparently my vehicle failed because two things showed up as "Not Ready". The suggested that I drive it for 20 miles and then come back and it'll pass. I drive to the mall just fine then when I get back into the car and turn it on, the check engine light comes on. So I need to get this check engine light off so I can get an inspection. Anyone have any suggestions? I might have to suck it up and take it into a shop but the 45 - 90 dollar diagnostic fee isn't making me feel very happy because I know there's nothing wrong with my car.
So I need a mechanic or car magic man or an inspection place that will ignore my check engine light because there's NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR. Preferably in the Plano, Richardson, Frisco area so I don't get pulled over en route to the place.
Thanks!
(And yes I saw the post in the tags section but I figured I'd ask for a place closer to Plano)

Has anyone here seen Casa Fiesta refried beans in stores here? Preferably in the Addison/North Dallas/Plano/Richardson area. They're the only brand I know of that's both cheap and kosher, and I haven't seen them since moving here.

How many of you have New Year plans in the DFW area?
Do tell!
I picked up the observer's list of parties, but I am having trouble choosing.
Based on these preferences, can anyone recommend me something fun?
-Near/around uptown (I'd like to walk if at all possible)
-$50 or less per person
-Themed is cool
- Live music is a plus; so is dancing

This is the oldest cemetery in the east valley area of Phoenix (established in 1891 though contains graves older than that). Waylon Jennings is buried here along with several other Arizonan historical figures. In the oldest section, there are graves from before Arizona was officially a state and Mesa was still being colonized, as Phoenix grew.
I find most of the cemeteries in the Phoenix area to be quite boring but I still found some interesting grave stones here anyway.

There are one or two more over in my Flickr (click any of the images to go there) and you can find more information on the cemetery here: http://mesacemetery.com/Home.aspx

Mt. Pleasant is a very large, old cemetery in the middle of one of the neighborhoods. My battery died long before I was ready to stop taking pictures of it, but here are some images:

This is near a large Asian section of the cemetery, and I'm guessing from the multiple arrows in the ground there, site of a recent Shinto ceremony.

At Oakland Cemetery in Little Rock...
I hadn't noticed this before and can't imagine how I didn't.
It was erected by the members of the Little Rock Typographical Union #92, which was chartered in 1865.
It has dozens of names of deceased union members all over it.

Do you guys have any good recommendations for plumbers in or around Frisco? Someone like Nick from Union Jack Plumbers in Austin (if that helps)...
We think our shower is leaking. The floor behind it in the bedroom gets wet a little while after you take a shower. Since stopping showering, we haven't had any problems. But I like that shower! We noticed the wet carpet a couple weeks ago, but we just realized it was the shower last weekend.
Thanks!
